HomeMy WebLinkAboutGroundskeeper 2022January 2022 TITLE: Groundskeeper QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Idaho Driver’s License. Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) High School Diploma preferred. Physically capable of performing assigned tasks. Ability to read and write and to understand operating instructions. Mechanical aptitude. Capable of lifting up to 80 pounds. Ability to work with staff, students and the public. Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory. Ability to work overtime and flexible hours dependent on conditions (e.g. snow removal) REPORTS TO: Grounds Foreman JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To maintain the grounds of Idaho Falls School District 91 in a condition of safety, neatness and aesthetic attractiveness for the enjoyment of the students and patrons. V. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Mow, trim and care for landscape of each facility (fertilize/aerate) Repairs fences as needed Helps prep the stadium for games (paint field markers/field setup) Uses tractor and back hoe for various types of work Trims trees and shrubs each fall/spring Patches concrete and asphalt Helps repair and install playground equipment Plows snow and sands parking lots Helps maintain snow removal equipment at each school, and helps maintain and service summer grounds equipment as needed. Helps with irrigation and with sprinkler system repairs as needed Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality Always reachable by district or personal cell phone Has regular and predictable attendance OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned VII. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week. The workweek may vary depending on weather conditions. Extended hours may be required during snow removal season. Emergency conditions may arise that will require attention at any hour of the day or night. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 7 to 8. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Grounds Foreman in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel. This position has been given an overall physical classification of heavy duty. 1 – 33% 34 – 66% 67-100% Heavy >80 pounds* 40 pounds 20 pounds *Lifts over 80 pounds with proper body mechanics and 2 or more workers.
