Strong computer skills. Proficiency in the secretarial skills of typing, filing, office procedures, operations of office equipment and machines. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public. Strong organizational skills. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Building Administrator. JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the counselors’ office so that the office’s maximum positive impact on the education of students can be achieved. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares and distributes mid-term and year-end report cards. Updates and maintains student transcripts, grades, student records. Prints and sends all transcripts as requested. Assists counselor in determining senior graduation status. Register students and maintain accurate enrollment records for various reports. Send student records as requested by schools and promptly request newly enrolled student records from other schools. Creates sections and enroll students in courses taken offsite at colleges or IDLA. Transcribes grades upon completion of courses. Transcribes credit recovery grades. Assists in inputting and maintaining the Master Schedule of courses. Assists in entering teaching assignments. Coordinates the registration process with the school counselor. Performs all paperwork and computer entry required for student checkout. Prepares graduation lists; orders diplomas, certificates and awards; prepares diplomas for presentation, and performs all other duties associated with graduation as requested. Prepares and completes paperwork and reports as needed. Performs routine clerical duties; such as filing, placing and receiving telephone calls, etc. Assists other office personnel as schedule allows. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Has regular and predictable attendance. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLYMENT: This position is scheduled for 8 hours per day, 209 days per year. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board Policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 6. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
