HomeMy WebLinkAboutStudent and Family Resource Liaison 2022 (1)February 2022 TITLE: Student and Family Community Resource Liaison QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate endorsed for appropriate levels and subjects. Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and the public. Previous experience in social work preferred, but not mandatory. Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not mandatory. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Director of Federal Programs  JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To serve in a liaison capacity between the school and the school community in fostering a climate of understanding and cooperation by assisting students and parents seeking information or referral to school or community resources. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as the McKinney Vento and Foster Care Liaison. Establishes and maintains communication between students, parents, teachers and school administration. Develops strong partnerships and public relations with parents, the school district, and community organizations. Assists parents and students in identifying and obtaining school and community services. Educates parents on ways to increase school success of children. Provides professional development to school staff related to the needs of students in underserved populations. Assists the school staff in achieving a better understanding of community resources available to support students and families. Supports and facilitates resources for extended school day intervention/enrichment programs. Maintains student records and community information. Seeks out opportunities for professional growth. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned consistent with the responsibilities of a teacher, the Idaho Code of Ethics, and the negotiated contract. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints.  Benefits will be in accordance with approved board policy.  Salary will be in accordance with the placement on the Teacher's Salary Schedule commensurate with years of experience and education.   EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Federal Programs in accordance with provisions of board policy.
