HomeMy WebLinkAboutReset Room CoordinatorAugust 2022 TITLE: Reset Room Coordinator QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Education or Behavioral Science preferred, but not required. Emotionally mature and stable. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public. Previous experience working with children and adolescents. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed. Able to perform assigned tasks. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Building Administrator JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested, and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To support students and teachers by providing access to the Reset Room to implement the core component of the Trauma Informed School Model. To provide immediate response to student’s emotional and educational needs based on assessment protocol upon arrival to the Reset Room. To provide support for the referral component of the Trauma-Informed Model by overseeing the data collection, referrals, and documentation to be reviewed with the Student Support Team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide crisis intervention, short-term stabilization services, and safety planning for all students K-6. Provide Trauma-Informed support provided based upon sound theoretical principles, with knowledge of the special issues and needs of the population served. Promote the core principles of Trauma-Informed care, ensuring that all service provided for students foster resilience. Provides service in a manner that is appropriate for the student’s age; demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to meet the student’s physical, psychosocial, and educational standards, promoting the overall safety of the student. Collaborate with school staff to support the overall well-being of the students. Provide classroom support to teachers, consulting on trauma sensitive behavior management tools and strategies that promote student success and empowerment. Conduct data collection, teacher narratives, and progress monitoring. Attends school meetings concerning assigned students. Maintain and participate in mandatory Trauma informed/sensitive training. Strong working/communication skills with students, staff and peers Maintains professional work habits and adheres to the Classified Handbook.. Willing to implement any other programs designated by the Principal for school improvement. Seeks out opportunities for professional growth. Participates in the supervision of students. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Has regular and predictable attendance. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is scheduled for 6.8 hours per day during the school year. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 8. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. EVALUATION:Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator in accordance with the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
